Central Sailing has over 20 years experience in giving sailors the confidence to achieve their potential. Whether your interest is 'messing about in boats' or you have ambitions to sail across the Atlantic, Central Sailing can help you do it safely.

Whether you are interested in sailing Yachts, Powerboats or Inland Waterways craft, Central Sailing can teach you to navigate safely in tidal and non-tidal waters. Closely following the RYA syllabus for theoretical education, Central Sailing can provide RYA courses at various levels from beginner to the more experienced sailor. Our courses include :

Day Skipper - the theory course for the beginner. No prior knowledge required.
Coastal/Yachtmaster - for those with more experience and a few more miles.
Yachtmaster Ocean - celestial navigation for experienced long distance skippers.

For anyone who wants to learn to sail safely, we provide a number of RYA shore-based practical one day courses covering all aspects of safety. We run RYA courses on :

VHF/GMDSS marine radio - Digital Selective Calling (DSC) and all that.
RYA First Aid - specifically targeted at the marine environment
Diesel Engine Maintenance - how to service and maintain small marine diesel engines.
Basic Sea Survival - Lifejackets, liferafts, flares and survival strategies.

Although not a sea school, Central Sailing work closely with RYA recognised sea schools throughout the UK and abroad to provide first class practical courses for Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster, the equivalent MCA qualifications, the International Certificate of Confidence (ICC), mileage building or just relaxing sailing holidays.
